Carl E. Werling

Carl E. Werling, 96, of Wapakoneta passed away at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday August 22, 2018 at Wapakoneta Manor.

He was born February 14, 1922 in Shelby County to Joseph W. & Clara (Freisthler) Werling, who preceded him in death.  On September 2, 1946, he married LaVera M. Jauret, who passed away on July 4, 2010.  They celebrated over sixty years of marriage together.

Survivors include 3 children; Dianne Carnes of Sidney, Denny (Judy) Werling, and Michael (Rose) Werling both of Wapakoneta; 12 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Millard Carnes and a great-grandson, Jesse Doseck.

A lifelong farmer, Carl also worked at Pepsi for 48 years.  After retirement, he and LaVera traveled to Florida with their neighbors.  He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Freyburg and the Farm Bureau.  Over the past 6 years at Wapakoneta Manor, Carl made quite a few friends and enjoyed playing Bingo.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Monday, August 27, 2018 at St. John Catholic Church, Freyburg with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Friends may call from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
