Joyce A. Schuler

Joyce A. Schuler, 86, of Wapakoneta passed away at 2:00 a.m. Thursday January 3, 2019 at Otterbein, St. Marys.

She was born in Wapakoneta on June 15, 1932 to Harold O. & Adelma

(Niemeyer) Katterhenry who preceded her in death.  On June 20, 1954 she married Dudley Schuler who survives.

Survivors include a son; Steven D. (Janet) Schuler; a daughter Gail E. (Stephen) Walter both of Wapakoneta; two grandsons Andrew H.

(Rachel) Schuler of Scotts Valley, CA, Elliot M. Schuler of Wapakoneta and two great-grandchildren Ava and Jack Schuler.

Joyce graduated from Blume High School in 1950 and Miami University, Bachelor of Arts, in 1954. She was employed in the Treasurer's Office in Auglaize County before joining her husband in their business, Flowers by Dudley.  She attended the Brights School of Floral Design in Chicago.  In 1972 she opened The Bridal Emporium and retired in 2007.

Joyce was the president of St. Paul U.C.C. Council where she was a member and a founder of the Living Endowment Fund.  She was also president of Helen Hunt, Wapakoneta PTA, Women's Club and worked on the campaign to build Northridge School.  She was a member of Junior Service League, Soroptomist, Irving Club, Sister Cities, Wapakoneta Country Club, Wapakoneta Chamber of Commerce and was a volunteer at God's Store House.

She was an avid reader, Bridge player and seamstress.  She enjoyed sewing, knitting, needle point, cross stitch, entertaining, volunteering, travelling and collecting.

Memorial services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday January 12, 2019 at St. Paul U.C.C., Wapakoneta with Rev. Becky Sunday officiating.  Burial will be at a later date at Pilger Ruhe Cemetery, New Knoxville.  Friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
