Mildred L. Walton, 94, passed away the morning of November 16, 2017 at the Primrose Retirement Community of Lima.  She was born at home in Sycamore, Ohio on September 16, 1923, to Paul & Mary (Stalter) Walter, who have preceded her in death.  On January 26, 1946, she married Reuben J. Walton, who passed away on January 31, 2013, just five days after their 67th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include her three children: Karen Meyer, of New Breman, Linda Kristoff, of Elida, and Albert & Terri Walton, of Waynesfield; eight grandchildren, Amy & Josh Opperman, John & Tina Meyer, David & Kimberly Meyer, Jennifer & Brian Olson, Steven & Jennifer Kristoff, Angela & Jamie Decker, Ryan & Sara Walton, and Kristin Walton; 22 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Esther Fry, of Sycamore.

Mildred was preceded in death by two son-in-laws, William Meyer and Terry Kristoff; her daughter-in-law, LeMarill Walton; and two brothers, Neil Walter and Wayne Walter.

A graduate of Sycamore High School, Mildred also graduated from Tiffin Business College.  Before her marriage to Reuben, she had worked as a teller in a local bank.  Once married, she transitioned from farm girl to farm wife; a title she was very proud of.  She could milk cows, tend the horses, and drive the tractors.  Mildred was always providing for her family, whether that meant canning the produce from their garden, or sewing the children’s clothes.  She enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano, and in her later years, reading.  She was a member of the New Hampshire United Methodist Church, Wapakoneta First United Methodist Church, and most recently the Waynesfield United Methodist Church.  Mildred will be remembered for her dedication to her family, she was a loving mother and especially proud of her grandchildren.

Funeral Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at the Waynesfield United Methodist Church.  Pastor Vera Welker will officiate and burial will follow in the Walnut Hill Cemetery, Waynesfield.  Friends may call from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta, and one hour prior to the service at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Waynesfield United Methodist Church.  Condolences may be expressed at www.schlosserfuneralhome.com
