Orville L. Schumann

Orville L. Schumann, 86, of Wapakoneta passed away at 10:03 a.m. Sunday December 16, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima surrounded by his family.

He was born in Wapakoneta on June 4, 1932 to Urban S. & Esther M. (Starr) Schumann who preceded him in death.  On June 7, 1952 he married Lois A. Lunz and she passed away on April 8, 2016.

Survivors include 5 children; Sheryl (Ron) Laman, Dennis Schumann, Eric Schumann, Gayle (Chris) Schneider, Bruce (Tracy) Schumann all of Wapakoneta, 5 grandchildren Kellie (Larry) Byers, Jenny (Matt) McDorman, Kristin (Jeramie) Werling, Jared (Tiffany) Schumann, Justin (Rachel) Schumann, 12 great-grandchildren, two sisters Dr. Dorothy (Bob) Woolley, Marjorie Lane, several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Paul Lane.

Orville alongside his wife owned and operated a hog and dairy farm.  They retired in 1999 after 63 years of operation.  He was a life member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.  He was a T.V. repairman and was also an accomplished pilot owning his own plane.

Private family services will be held at the St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Pusheta Road.
