Paul E. "Eric" Shade

Paul E. “Eric” Shade, 47, of Wapakoneta passed away at 12:57 p.m.  Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Mercy Health-St. Rita’s, Lima surrounded by his family after a yearlong battle with cancer.

He was born on September 7, 1970 in Landstuhl, Germany to Paul E. “Gene” & Karen K. (Herndon) Shade who survive in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include a son, Kaleb Shade of Wapakoneta; a brother Troy (Jamonah) Shade of Columbus Grove; niece and nephew Payton and Parker Shade; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who were more like brothers and sisters and a close friend, Jamie Baumer of Botkins.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Gerald (Val) Herndon and Flossie (Harry) Dellinger; paternal grandparents, Paul & Mary Jo Shade and aunt and uncle, Ron and Linda Herndon Mooney.

Eric was a 1989 graduate of Wapakoneta High School.  He had worked at Copeland Corporation, Cotterman & Co. Roofing and the last 9 years at Lowe’s of Wapakoneta in the lumber department.  He was an avid Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Tigers, Detroit Redwings and Michigan Wolverines fan and was also a sports card collector.  He loved all animals but took a special liking to reptiles-especially snakes.

Memorial services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday July 10, 2018 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with burial at a later date.   Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
