Anna Louise (Fisher) Koch, 101, died peacefully at her home on Casey Key, Florida, on September 29, 2011. She was born on November 23, 1909, on her grandfather's farm on Fisher Road, north of Wapakoneta, Ohio, to Charles William and Anna Catherine (Stein) Fisher, founders of Fisher Cheese Co., which at one time was Wapakoneta's largest employer.
She attended the country school and, later, Williamson School, before graduating from Blume High School in 1927. After earning a degree in education from Ohio Northern University, she served as a school teacher in Van Wert, Ohio, earning an annual salary of $900.
She was a member of the First English Lutheran Church and St. Paul United Church of Christ in Wapakoneta, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, a fraternal organization based on teachings from the Bible.
On July 7, 1932, she married her friend and former high school classmate George Henry Koch. George became president of Koch Beverage & Ice Company, brewers of Old Vienna Beer and Consolidated Bottling Company of Lima, Ohio, (Pepsi-Cola Bottling Company of Lima and Wapakoneta). She and George had three children: A son, Karl, and two daughters, Georganna and Kristine.
She spent the last 40 years of her life in her home on the Island of Casey Key, Florida, south of Sarasota. She is preceded in death by her husband; her four brothers, Paul Fisher, Harold Fisher, DeWitte Fisher, and Frederick Fisher; her sister, Emma Rosentrater; and her grandson, George A. Koch.
She is survived by her three children, Karl W. and Judy A. Koch (Fredericksburg and Corpus Christi, Texas), Georganna Koch Anderson (Dallas, Texas), and Kristine and Peter Platt (La Jolla, Calif.); eight grandchildren, Karla Koch Seeton, (College Station, Texas), Kim Koch (Corpus Christi, Texas), Julia Koch (Corpus Christi), Eric Musselman (Los Angeles), Nicole Musselman (Dallas), Anna Plumlee (Dallas), Christian Anderson (Dallas), and Brett Anderson (Dallas); and 20 great-grandchildren. A great-great-granddaughter will be born in November.
Funeral services are scheduled to begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at St. Paul U.C.C., Wapakoneta. The Rev. Joe Pumphrey will be officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. Friends may call for 4-6 P.M. Wednesday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services 615 N. Dixie Hwy., Wapakoneta.
