Charles R. "Butch" Huebner, 81, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 9:51 PM, Monday, March 2, 2026 at Mercy Health-St. Rita's. He was born on June 17, 1944 in Fort Wayne, IN to Charles and Genevieve (Johnston) Huebner, who have preceded him in death.

Survivors include his two daughters, Shannon Huebner, of Lima and Cindy Jones, of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Tiffany (Rick Schneider) Kline, Kaitlyn (Gentry Buell) Kline, Wyatt (Becca) Jones, Dalton (Skyler Eyanson) Jones; six great-grandchildren, Aislynn, Raelynn, Xander, Izabella, Russell, Major James; three siblings, Susie Cole, Aileen (Pat) Merricle, John (Jenny) Huebner; and a sister-in-law, Sherry Huebner.

Charles was preceded in death by his son, BJ Huebner; three siblings, Charleen (David) Zeigler, Amy Huebner, Donnie Huebner; and brother-in-law, Don Cole.

Charles, known to most as "Charlie" or "Chuck", was a graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School. He then began working at Ford, until he was drafted in 1968 to the US Army. After serving in Vietnam until 1971, Chuck returned to Ford, retiring with an over thirty year career. In his younger years, many moments were spent fishing with his kids. Charlie also loved spending time in his garage, especially working on cars with his friends.

Although he was occasionally stubborn, he truly had a soft heart. Chuck enjoyed curating his many collections, especially treasuring sentimental pieces. As his family grew, his grandkids and great-grandkids became his favorite people. Whenever you were around Butch, you knew there was going to be music in the background. It didn't matter the genre or format, he instilled that love into his kids. The only time music wasn't playing was when the tv was on or he was reading a Tom Clancy book. Charlie's home collection of vhs and dvds could keep his busy for days, but his favorites were the Jesse Stone movies and any old tv show, especially westerns.

Chuck will be remembered for his big belly laugh and love of inappropriate humor. The family would like to thank the staff of Mercy Health-St. Rita's 5K floor and Compassus Hospice for their care of Chuck. A special thank you to Pastor Kevin Hall for leading him to forgiveness in Jesus. We encourage you to visit Max's Dairy and treat yourself to a peanut butter and hot fudge milkshake in his memory.

A Celebration of Life for Charles and BJ will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Unlimited's Veterans Fund, Compassus Hospice, or the Auglaize County Humane Society.
