Connie M. Schaub, 81, of Botkins, passed away at 10:56 a.m., Sunday, November 23, 2025 at the Cleveland Clinic. She was born on December 17, 1943 in Lima, to Eldon and Viola (Steinke) Oakley who preceded her in death. On February 23, 1963 she married Daniel H. "Whitey" Schaub, who passed away on January 26, 2016.

Survivors include 5 daughters, Keyna Maynard of Waynesfield, Kecia (Leonard) Schmerge, Kim (Gordon) Lawrence, Trisha (Jon McClintock) Schaub, Jessica (Josh) Meyer all of Botkins; 13 grandchildren, Lesley Oakes, Brandon (Alison) Haas, Nathan (Morgan) Haas, Cameron (Courtney Reed) Haas, Ryan (Marie) Schmerge, Brad (Christine) Schmerge, Doug (Erin) Schmerge, Breezy (Jake) Yinger, Brittany (Joel) Billings, Gabe (Renee) Lawrence, Mikaila Lawrence, Jace Meyer, Cale Meyer; 32 great-grandchildren and a sister, Phyllis Schaub of Wapakoneta.

She was preceded in death by her son, Bryan Schaub; granddaughter, Carolina Meyer; sister, Joan (Donald) Schmeising; a brother, Francis (Sue) Oakley and a brother-in-law, Nelson Schaub.

Connie was a 1961 graduate of Indian Lake High School. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine and the Red Hat Society. Playing cards and gambling were some of her favorite things to do. During quieter moments, she could be found crocheting and baking. In addition to her purple hair, Connie will be remembered for her eagerness to serve others. She was constantly looking for ways to brighten someone's day or bring a smile to their face, usually in the form of a sweet treat.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 2, 2025 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, Rhine. Father Sean Wilson will officiate and interment will follow in St. Lawrence Catholic Cemetery, Rhine. Family and friends may visit from 3:00 - 7:00 p.m. Monday, December 1, 2025 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta where the family requests that in honor of Connie that you wear purple as that was her favorite color.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to The Cara Meyer Scholarship Fund, Botkins Athletic Booster's (Auxiliary gym fund) or Botkins Fire Department.
