David E. Reineke, 67, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 8:40 a.m., Friday, April 4, 2025 at his residence. He was born on January 21, 1958 in Lima to Richard E. "Bud" and Mary Kathryn (Myers) Reineke who have preceded him in death. On May 16, 1981 he married Ronda S. Snyder, who survives.
Survivors include Melissa Howell, of St. Marys, David Reineke, of Wapakoneta, Brandon Reineke, of Wapakoneta, April (Wilbur Reis) Reineke, of Wapakoneta; four grandchildren, Jesse, Kyrie, Sidney, Hazel; three sisters, Juanita Reineke, Tammy (Dennis) Schaub, Tonya Snyder, all of Wapakoneta; an extended family of nieces and nephews; and two faithful canine companions, Harley and Sugar.
He was preceded in death by son, Jesse Reineke; two brothers, Steven (Toni) King and Richard Reineke.
Dave recently retired from Whitefeather Foods, where he dedicated over 18 years to their maintenance department. A strong work ethic was instilled into him at a young age and carried throughout his career, never one to miss a day and often working as much as he could. As a result, he will be remembered as an amazing provider for his family. When not working, Dave could be found outdoors. He loved hunting, fishing and camping, but was just as content in his yard feeding the birds and squirrels.
A member of the Eagles, Aerie 691, Dave was also a retired member of the Iron Brotherhood Motorcycle Club. He and Ronda enjoyed going on poker runs on the bike and after their retirement were able to enjoy a drive across US Route 66 together. Dave was often in the garage working on motorcycles or cars, usually left with a box of parts he "didn't need". He had a talent for tinkering and fixing anything, even if it wasn't broke.
Although his exterior may have been that of a tough guy, Dave had a soft heart and was willing to help anyone in need. There were many times he stepped in, quietly, to do whatever needed done, never wanting the recognition for what he was doing. The jingle of his key ring and wallet chain may now be silent, but his legacy will live on in his family and those lives he touched.
