Dennis "Wayne" Miller

Dennis "Wayne" Miller, 74, of Lima, passed away at 10:27 a.m., Thursday, April 10, 2025 at Wyngate Senior Living Community following an extended illness.

He was born in Hardin County on September 3, 1950 to Mark J. and Viola (Sphar) Miller who preceded him in death.

Survivors include a brother Alan "Doug" (Lynn A.) Miller, of Lima; a niece Tammy (Harvey) Slechter; 4 great-nieces Katelyn (Allen) Winkler, Courtney (Barrett Teeters) Hunter, Amanda (Bryce Bedwell) Slechter, Danielle Slechter; a great-great-nephew Braydon Winkler; a great-great-niece Avery Teeters; cousins Penny Jo Ralston, Steve Brown, Paula Steinke, Tim Spradlin and Kim Spradlin

He was preceded in death by his brother Mark "Jay" Miller and cousin Bill Spradlin.

Dennis was a 1969 graduate of Upper Sciota Valley High School. Following graduation he served 6 years in the U.S. Army Reserves. During that time he became a barber which was his career for 50 years in Lima. His free time was spent golfing, riding his Harley and in the winter months he was an avid skier. He was an instructor for 25 years at Mad River Mountain in Bellefontaine and enjoyed his annual group trips out West to many locations and went to Europe one year with his ski friends. When he was home he enjoyed listening to his music and going to concerts with his cousin Steve Brown and friends.

Funeral services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Josh Tissot officiating and military rites will be performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at a later date in Preston Cemetery, Alger.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Interim Hospice of Lima. The family would also like to thank the employees at Wyngate Senior Living Community for the outstanding care they provided to Wayne.
