Eileen M. Gaier

Eileen M. Gaier, 82, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 12:38 p.m., Friday February 13, 2026 at The Gardens of Wapakoneta. On March 6, 1943 she was born in McCartyville to Walter & Clara (Schroeder) Flaute who have preceded her in death. On October 1, 1966 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, McCartyville, she married John H. Gaier who passed away November 15, 2024.

Survivors include a daughter, Carla & Tom Kohler, of Wapakoneta; two grandchildren, Claire (Kamahie Higuchi) Kohler, of Utah and Luke (Taylor Will) Kohler, of Buckland; two sisters, Agnes Jackson, Barabara (Terry) Bateman; a sister-in-law Margaret Flaute; a brother-in-law Larry Frilling and an extended family of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death two brothers, Roger and Leo (Deb) Flaute and a sister, Treva Frilling.

She and her husband enjoyed farming together, as well as doing home building projects. Eileen retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber. After retiring, she volunteered at Auglaize Acres, God's Storehouse, Mercy Unlimited and St. Joseph church funeral meals. Eileen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2026 at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Father Sean Wilson will officiate and interment of her cremated remains will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.

The Gaier family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services to handle the arrangements for Eileen.
