Franklin Wertz

Franklin "Frank" Llewellyn Wertz, 80, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Monday, September 29, 2025 at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on November 3, 1944 in Lima, OH to Llewellyn and Helen (Viet) Wertz who preceded him in death.

Survivors include 4 children Kelly (Bryan) Huffman of Yelm, WA, David Wertz of Wapakoneta, Frank Wertz of Berlin, WI, Nicole (Jerry) Sawmiller of Wapakoneta; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; significant other Pat McCain and his K-9 companion Casper; extended family Shaun (Kim) McCain of Wapakoneta; Shelly McCain of Lodi, Stacey McCain of Celina and 13 grandchildren.

He was preceded by his favorite four-legged child Mandy.

Frank was a 1963 graduate of St. Joseph High School and retired from the Wapakoneta Machine Shop after 40 years of service. He enjoyed watching sports and NASCAR and especially loved talking politics. He was a former member of the Eagles #691, Wapakoneta. He also enjoyed geography,collecting maps of the US and reading local and national newspapers.

Private family services will be held at a later date.
