Joanne L. Schnell

Joanne L. Schnell, 89, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 9:58 p.m., Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Lima Memorial Health System.

She was born on November 19, 1935 in Fryburg, OH to Walter and Pauline (Hollenbacher) Lunz who preceded her in death. On June 18, 1955 she married Ted A. Schnell and he passed away on July 12, 2016.

Survivors include a daughter and son; Kris (Jeff) Beane, T. Kevin (Linda) Schnell both of Wapakoneta, 4 grandchildren Amy (Sean) Runkel of Wapakoneta, Andy (Julie) Beane of Troy, David (Abbey) Schnell of Shawnee, Erin Schnell of Columbus; 4 great-grandchildren Lainey Schnell, Layla, Gracie and Charlie Beane; 1 step great-grandson Cameron Day; a sister Ruth Ann (Glenn) Hines; a sister-in-law Joy Lynn Schnell and numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Kenneth Lunz, Loren (Anna) Lunz and a brother-in-law Tom C. Schnell. 

Joanne was a 1953 graduate of Blume High School and worked at Rhine & Brading Pharmacy for 32 years retiring in 1998 where she had many fond memories of her co-workers and customers. She was a member of St. Paul U.C.C. and served as a member on Church Council, Sunday School Teacher and on various committees. She and Ted also enjoyed traveling during their retirement years.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2025 at St. Paul U.C.C. with Pastor Anthony Spearhart officiating. Burial will be at a later date at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta. Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul U.C.C., Building Fund.
