Judy L. Mccoy

Judy L. McCoy, 73, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 10:12 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2023 at her residence.

She was born on December 26, 1949 in Lima, OH to Lester and Betty (Haley) McBeth who preceded her in death.  On August 28, 1972 she married Gary L. McCoy Sr. and he passed away on September 6, 2012.

Survivors include a step-son Rich McCoy of IL; a grandson Devon McCoy; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters Pat (Chester) Barrett, Betty (Bill) Cotterman both of Wapakoneta; a sister-in-law Sherry McCoy and lots of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son Gary McCoy Jr.; a brother Mike McBeth and a sister D. Jean Shartzer.

Judy was a 1968 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and then enlisted in the United State Marine Corps. from 1968-1972 during the Vietnam War.  She retired from Halloway Sportswear, Sidney.  She was a member of Harvest Baptist Church and was a founding member of the Chained Eagles of Ohio.  She enjoyed crocheting and gardening.

Funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Pastor Gary Bragg officiating.  Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445.  Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Auglaize County Cancer Society.
