Lawrence J. "Larry" Hilty Jr., 67, of Lakeview died at 4:28 p.m. Wednesday May 7, 2014 at Auglaize Acres, Wapakoneta.
He was born on November 13, 1946 to Lawrence J. & Marjorie M. (Nafziger) Hilty Sr. who preceded him in death. On December 23, 1982 he married Wilma J. Bowersock and she survives in Lakeview.
Survivors also include two sons; Bob (Sharrie) May and Steven (Denise) May both of MI, a daughter Cynthia Sawmiller of Convoy, 5 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 3 brothers Dan (Connie) Hilty, Dave (Jane) Hilty and Jon (Jill) Hilty, 2 sisters Ruth Welty and Cathy (Norm) Stratford and numerous nieces and nephews.
Larry retired from Silgan Plastics in Ottawa after 25 years of service. He enjoyed traveling and especially camping. He was an avid fisherman. He also loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday May 10, 2014 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta. Pastor Dennis Schmidt will be officiating. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society or St. Rita's Hospice.
