Paul Jerry Brackney

Paul Jerry Brackney, 83, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 5:00 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2025 at Lima Memorial Health System. He was born on January 30, 1942 in Dayton, OH to Paul and Virginia (Cullen) Brackney who preceded him in death. On August 6, 1965 he married Elaine M. Barr in Vickery, OH and she survives in Wapakoneta. 

Survivors include 3 sons Daryl (Carol) Brackney, Danny (Stacey) Brackney both of Wapakoneta, Denny (Lisa) Brackney of New Bremen; 8 grandchildren Stacy, Adam, Kyle, Kory, Katlyn, Kameron, Bryce, Holden; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother Ron Brackney of Uniopolis; a sister-in-law Sandy Brackney of Athens, IL and numerous nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by a brother Jack Brackney and a sister Patricia Brackney-Myers. 

Jerry was a 1960 graduate of Wapakoneta High School. Following graduation, he joined the U.S. Army from 1961-1964. He worked at the Ford Motor Company, Lima Engine Plant and then started his own construction company which his sons now operate. He was a member of the Millwright Local Union #1090 and retired from ACCL/ Adam Clark, Canada where he traveled to many states in the U.S. along with Canada. After retirement he could always be found in his shop tinkering around or fixing something for his neighbors. 

Family and friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 24, 2025 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with military rites being performed by the V.F.W. Post 8445.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to St. Johns Volunteer Fire & Rescue or to the donor's choice.
