Ricardo “Rick” Penã, 58, of Wapakoneta, passed away following a long illness at 12:39 a.m. Saturday, September 23, 2023 at Mercy Health - St. Rita’s, Lima.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kathy Penã, of Wapakoneta; three children, Mindi Hoge, of Las Vegas, William (Gwen) Hoge, of Lockington, and Benjamin Hoge, of Wapakoneta; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sarah (Duane) Baker, of Corpus Christi, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ricardo Penã Sr. and Phyllis G. Fernandez.
He was a retired forklift operator from JB Tools and Plasipak.
In the hopes of helping others, Rick chose to donate his body to science. A Celebration of Life service will be announced at a later date.
