Dr. Betty B (as some of us collegians fondly called her) was my academic advisor in the mid-70's while I attended Ashland College. I also took two literature classes from her, the one being the Bible in Literature. Dr. Betty was an inspiration and a wonderful example of what it means for a Christian to walk out her faith daily in Christ. One Thanksgiving weekend, we had a huge snowstorm, and classes were canceled on Monday and Tuesday. Several of us walked over to Keene Avenue to the Brodbecks' house, and Dr. Betty welcomed us warmly. I kept in touch with her for a number of years, but lost the connection in these last years. I wish I would have been free to attend the service on Saturday. May the Lord comfort you and remind you of the many special memories you shared with your mom over the years.
