Dear Carolyn,
how utterly devastating to witness such a warm-hearted and easy-going friend pass away. The last time we met you and Dave in Lengerich is just a few years ago. I am so glad that we had this occasion to renew our friendly relationship.
We are sure this has also been a great shock to you. We are with you in our thoughts. Both of you were such dedicated hosts to many of our students for a very long period of time. Dave will be remembered by everyone who had a chance to meet him. We appreciated very much his humanity, tolerance and kindness which are so hard to find these days. We will keep a place for him in our hearts and memory forever. And we wish you the strength to find through this difficult time of loss and mourning. Find peace in the kind memory of your husband.

Dear Carolyn and all the family. We were so sad, when we heard that Dave has passed away. He looked so good at the last pictures from the cruise. For us Dave was a wonderful host, (we remember him waiting for us in the sitting room when we got lost in Ford Wayne on the way back from Chicago late in the night) a generous man with a big heart, especially for children and youngsters. He was a perfect second father for our daughters, Hanna and Eva. He was not only very generous but also engaged in many ways and for many people and you could have a really good time and much fun with him. We`ll really miss him. So we are sure, you will miss him very much and we will be with You in our thoughts and would like to give You some comfort, if we could.
