David Ernest Wells Horton

David Horton, 84, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 6:00 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System.  he fought a brave fight with cancer winning some battles but, losing the war.  His loving partner, Connie Bishop fought these battles with him through the end.
 
David was the first of six children and was born on September 21, 1939 in Courtland, Ontario, Canada to Ernest and Ida May Horton who preceded him in death.  
 
Survivors include two children Jerry and Susan; two brothers Bruce and Jerry; two sisters Shirley and Ruth Anne all of Ontario, Canada.
 
David was preceded in death by his wife Mary Joyce; a brother James; a sister-in-law Sandi Horton and a brother-in-law Bill Kavanagh.
 
David had a love for traveling and spent most of his adult years in the Royal Canadian Air Force driving trucks and pilot cars.  He also operated a hostel in British Columbia and was a prison guard before his retirement allowed him to have a home on the side of a mountain in British Columbia.  He then spent his time writing several novels using his life experiences to produce his characters.  David will be missed by his close family and many friends that he made while on life's journey and travels across Canada and the United States of America.
