Donald E. Brautigam

Donald E. Brautigam, 95, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 12:55 p.m., Monday, February 19, 2024 at Lima Memorial Health System.

He was born on October 15, 1928 in Wapakoneta to William and Hulda (Lunz) Brautigam who preceded him in death.  On January 27, 1963 he married Lola Marie Eichenauer, who preceded him in death on December 27, 2011. 

He is survived by three children; Kathy (Pete) Berg of Lewistown, Patty (Jim) Bibbo of Westerville and David Brautigam of Wapakoneta, 5 grandchildren Tucker, Tarrah & Lindsay Berg and Jake & Anna Bibbo, one brother, Richard (MaryLou) Brautigam, a brother-in-law, Vernon Eichenauer, a sister-in-law, Alice Eichenauer, and many nieces and nephews.

Donald was a lifetime dairy and grain farmer.  He was a lifelong member of St. Paul United Church of Christ, Wapakoneta and served on the church council.  He was a member of the Farm Bureau, Moulton Gun Club, board member of the former Wapakoneta Farmer’s Grain, Moulton Township Zoning Appeals Board and Director of the Dairy Board of Auglaize County.

Funeral services will begin at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, February 24, 2024 at St. Paul U.C.C. with Rev. Mark Bishop and Rev. Clarence Dinnen co-officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Family and friends may visit from 4-7 p.m. Friday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services and one hour prior to the service at church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Paul United Church of Christ.
