Obituary

Donna J. Whetstone, 80, of Wapakoneta passed away peacefully on Monday, September 11, 2023 at Lima Memorial Hospital with family by her side.

She was born on Oct. 15, 1942 in Lima, Ohio to the late Edgar and Alice (Groves) Becker. On Dec. 24, 1982 she married Roger “Doc” Whetstone, who died in 1996.

She is survived by her children Vicki (Brooks) Place of Wapakoneta, Deborah Hardesty of Wapakoneta, Keith (Jenny) Hardesty of Celina, Brian (Amy) Hardesty of Harrod and Julie (Kevin) Featheringham of Wapakoneta. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; a sister Phyllis (Ralph) Kaeck of Wapakoneta; two brothers Ron (Kamille) Becker of Wapakoneta and Gary (Evy) Becker of Coldwater, MI.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, husband and her brother James L. Becker.

Donna graduated from Wapakoneta High School with the Class of 1960. She retired from Superior Metal Products in Wapakoneta after thirty-one years of service. A few things Donna enjoyed were: crafts, puzzles, music, family, and her beloved cat, Nikki. She was a “good girl” and always had a smile on her face.

Her family would like to give a special thanks to New Vision Home Care for the many years of service and support. Especially to nurse Jamie Schnieder, and aide/special friend, Tyler Spears.

A private Celebration of life will be held at a later date with immediate family.
