I remember a great competitor and all around good guy who could block and run with the best halfbacks DC could ever have. Truly a Hall of Fame great. Gary always had a huge smile, and an entertaining story to tell. Jim always enjoyed hearing stories of the early days of the Uniopolis Browns' football team, of which Gary was a charter member.

First, my very deepest condolences to the entire family. I have had the pleasure of knowing Gary for over 40 years primarily through coaching and officiating track. I have the greatest respect for him and his knowledge of the sports he coached; he truly immersed himself in those sports in order to provide the best for his athletes. Caring, great sense of humor, easy to talk to, open, welcoming, knowledgeable, well regarded among his peers and officials he worked with; just a great personality. He will leave a tremendous void in the Elida community but he positively touched so very many lives including mine. I am glad to say that Gary was my friend!!! God's blessings on all of you.
