I remember a great competitor and all around good guy who could block and run with the best halfbacks DC could ever have. Truly a Hall of Fame great. We were grateful for his leadership and skills and he certainly transferred his talent to teach and coach others. A loss to his friends and former teammates.

Gary always had a huge smile, and an entertaining story to tell. Jim always enjoyed hearing stories of the early days of the Uniopolis Browns' football team, of which Gary was a charter member.
Our sympathies go to his family and friends. He will be missed.

First, my very deepest condolences to the entire family. I have had the pleasure of knowing Gary for over 40 years primarily through coaching and officiating track. I have the greatest respect for him and his knowledge of the sports he coached; he truly immersed himself in those sports in order to provide the best for his athletes. Caring, great sense of humor, easy to talk to, open, welcoming, knowledgeable, well regarded among his peers and officials he worked with; just a great personality. He will leave a tremendous void in the Elida community but he positively touched so very many lives including mine. I am glad to say that Gary was my friend!!! God's blessings on all of you.

Our deepest sympathy to your family. Duane and I both went to Defiance College with Gray and Duane played football with Gary. We had such a good visit at their Homecoming celebration this past fall. Gary was always smiling and had such a kind heart. Lindy Laux

An outing at the "Barnyard Open" was never complete until you asked "is Harry coming? Then, you would turn around and there he'd be with that infectious smile. RIP my brother, you will be truly missed.
