July 31, 1932 ~ December 28, 2020 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Howard “Bud” House, 88, of New Hampshire passed away at 7:45 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2020 after a short stay at Otterbein, St. Marys.  He battled with health problems for the last 3 years.

Bud was born on July 31, 1932 in Shelby County to Homer & Flossie (Opperman) House who preceded him in death.  He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years Barbara (Gaberdiel) House.

Survivors include 4 children Doug (Lisa) House of Hebron, OH, Kendall (Vickie) House of Lima, OH, Jodi (Gary) Davis of Wapakoneta, OH, Tracy House of Wapakoneta; 3 step-children Rita (Kurt) Manger of Anna, OH, Gene Sheipline of AZ, Julie (Doug) McBride of Wapakoneta; 13 grandchildren Steven (Lisa) House, Greg (Crisha) House, Brandy (Justin) Armour, Dustin (Courtney) House, Matthew (Jamie) Weidner, Ashley McBride, Hayley McBride, Devin McBride, Kyle (Kristin) Manger, Chad (Shina) Manger, Heather (Ben) Lengerich, Craig Manger, Savanna Manger; 20 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers-in-law John Gaberdiel of Findlay, OH, David (Ann) Gaberdiel of Colorado Springs, Bob Engle of Wapakoneta, OH; a sister-in-law Karen Gaberdiel of AZ, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law LaDonna (Larry) Dieringer; a brother in-law Terry Gaberdiel; a sister Shirley Engel and a mother-in-law Rose Gaberdiel.

Bud proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1950-1953.  He retired from truck driving where he drove for Duff/OK for 30 years.  After retirement he taught truck driving at Apollo Career Center for 5 years.  He was a member of The Moose, The American Legion, and The Eagles.  He enjoyed taking the kids out on his pontoon boat and spending time on the lake.  He always liked to playfully tease the kids and grandkids.  He will be greatly missed.

As per Bud’s wishes he will be cremated and there will be no public viewing or services.

The House family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta to handle the arrangements.
