Jaye D. Smith

Jaye D. Smith, 55, of Wapakoneta, passed away at  2:05 a.m., Monday, January 10, 2022 at the Wapakoneta Manor.  He was born on November 13, 1966 in Lima, to Leonard and Rose Ann Smith who survive in Wapakoneta.

Survivors also include his son, Trenton Smith, of Port Charlotte, FL; sister, Deanna (Paul) Limbert, of Columbus; and niece, Taylor Limbert. 

Jaye was a 1985 graduate of Wapakoneta High School.  He enjoyed listening to 70's and 80's rock music, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers, muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles.  Jaye also cared for the stray cats in his neighborhood.  Family and friends were a big part of his life, but his greatest treasure was his son.  

Memorial Services will begin at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.  Friends may call one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.  The family has requested for those attending to wear a mask.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to On Our Sleeves, the movement for children's mental health at www.onoursleeves.org.
