John E. Hixenbaugh

John E. Hixenbaugh, 49, of Lima, passed away Thursday, December 2, 2021.

He was born on May 18, 1972 in Lima, OH to Jay and Toyetta (Place) Hixenbaugh who preceded him in death.  On November 28, 1992 he married Jennifer M. Shenk and she passed away on May 21, 2017.  On October 16, 2021 he married Shelly Campbell and she survives in St. Paris, OH. 

Survivors include 3 children Leslie (Jason) Ditto, Jacob (Kasey Carrico) Hixenbaugh, Joshua Hixenbaugh all of Lima, 2 step-sons Zachary (Kayla Kemp) Cook, Benjamin Cook both of St. Paris; a grandson Kaiden Cook; 3 sisters Judy (Andy) Enneking, Jaymee (Mark) Donovan and Jennifer (Alan) Saintignon.

John was a 1990 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High School and then attended the University of Toledo where he received an associate's degree in electrical engineering.  He was employed at Honda of Anna in equipment service for the aluminum machining department for 25 years.  He enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting and shooting guns.   Most of all John especially loved spending time with his family, friends and his dog, Gus.

Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday December 8, 2021 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Charles Lively officiating.  Burial will follow at Buckland Cemetery. Family and friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to Make A Wish or the Wounded Warrior Project.
