Mark Gibson Obituary

Mark A. Gibson, 51, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 8:43 a.m., Monday, January 22, 2018 at Lima Memorial Health System.  He was born June 9, 1966, in St. Marys, to Philip M. & Kathy E. Young Gibson.  His father preceded him in death, his mother survives in Wapakoneta.  On April 4, 1992, he married Karina L. Housel, who survives.

Survivors also include his two sons, Kyle Philip Gibson, of Columbus and Cameron John Gibson, of Wapakoneta; three siblings, April (Todd) Rosebrook, of Wapakoneta, Todd (Tina) Gibson, of Wapakoneta, and Holly (Mike) King, of Botkins; and many nieces and nephews.

A 1985 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, Mark had delivered for Schwan’s Food Company before becoming a salesman for Kalida Truck Equipment.  He began his coaching career with baseball at age 14 up until his passing.  Mark enjoyed volunteering in many capacities, ranging from the youth baseball program at Veterans Park to the Wapakoneta High School football team.  Always one to spread Redskin Pride, he loved decorating his fence with Wapak spirit for all of our community to see.  Mark will be remembered for sharing his greatest joy with all of us… making us laugh.
