Melissa Ann Coldiron

Melissa Ann Coldiron, 38, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away at 8:45 p.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at Kindred Hospital, Lima.  She was born on May 27, 1982 in Lima, to Douglas and Cynthia (Crum) Stemen who survive in Wapakoneta.  On October 20, 2011, she married Sean M. Coldiron, who survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors also include her two sons, Dominic and Maverick; a brother, Reed (Amanda) Stemen, of Uniopolis; two nieces, Evelyn and Reagan; her mother-in-law, Judy Coldiron, of Carey; a sister-in-law, Mandi Coldiron, of Carey; along with several aunts and uncles and many cousins.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Alvin and Dorothy Stemen and Joe and Doris Crum; and her father-in-law, Michael Coldiron.

A 2000 graduate of Wapakoneta High School, Melissa had a stellar career with the softball team.  She then went to Ohio Northern University, graduating in 2004, majoring in exercise physiology.  Melissa had a varied career, most notably working in human resources at the Rudolph Food Company and The Ohio State University, Lima Campus.  She earned her master's degree in business administration from the University of Findlay.  

Melissa enjoyed camping and being outdoors, especially going to the zoo or taking bike rides with her boys.  She loved listening to live music and going to concerts.  Attending OSU football games, or watching the Indians or Reds play were also favorite things to do.  Her true treasure was spending time with her family and friends.  A kind, loving, and selfless person, she was always looking for ways to help and support those around her.  

Services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29, 2021 at Crossroads Church of God, Lima, with Pastor Brian Robertson officiating.  Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta and one hour prior to the services Thursday at the church.  Interment will follow in Fairmount Cemetery, Uniopolis.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, or the Children's Miracle Network, specifically to the BuckeyeThon (https://buckeyethon.osu.edu/) or the ZiggyThon (https://www.facebook.com/DMatBGSU).
