Nancy Lee (Heintz) Hollenbacher died peacefully on March 25, 2022 after suffering Covid complications at Otterbein, Cridersville. She was born on July 13, 1939 to Luther E. and Iva P. Heintz of Jackson Center, Ohio who preceded her in death. On October 21, 1961, she married Ernest L. Hollenbacher, who survives.
Also surviving are three children, Melissa (Jim) Smith of Hudson, Ohio; Susan (Lee) Harrod of Wapakoneta and Derron Hollenbacher of Wapakoneta. She loved her grandchildren immensely. Sam Harrod, Lexi Harrod, Andrew Smith, Luke Smith, Dylan Hollenbacher and Zach Hollenbacher had the best grandma!
Her grandson, Maxwell Harrod, preceded her in death.
Nancy retired from Wapakoneta City Schools as the Cafeteria Manager for the former Northridge Elementary School. She was an active volunteer at St. Vincent's God's Storehouse in Wapakoneta and made sure that every college student received a care package from St Mark's Lutheran Church.
Nancy was a big sports fan. She loved her Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes. And if she wasn’t watching a game, she was shopping - something she definitely passed on to her daughters. She loved going out to eat with her friends, spending time with family, and having a cold beer over ice by a roaring fire. Her grandchildren were her greatest joy.
The family wishes to thank everyone who sent cards and flowers, visited Nancy, and prayed for her recovery and eventual peace. She was blessed with amazing friends and family.
There will be a private Christian burial attended by the family at Greenlawn Cemetery with Rev. Doug Pretorius officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
The Hollenbacher Family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta to handle the arrangements.
