Norbert J. Greve

Norbert J. Greve, 88, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 3:55 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2021 at Mercy Health-St. Rita's.

He was born on April 3, 1933 in Rhine, OH to Louis and Cecelia (Schmerge) Greve who preceded him in death  On September 10, 1960 he married Phyllis Saum and she survives in Wapakoneta.

Survivors include 5 sons Wayne (Bonnie) Greve of Wapakoneta, Paul (Kristi) Greve of Olathe, KS, Tony (Jan) Greve of Upper Arlington, OH, Kevin (Julie) Greve of Lascassas, TN, Mark (Diana) Greve of Marysville, OH; 9 grandchildren Aaron, Zachary, Jessica, Erik, Cecelia, Jacob, Josh, Alexis, Trey; 2 great-grandchildren Aurora, Luna and a sister Erma Steinke.

Norbert was preceded in death by an infant son Donald Greve; 2 sisters and 2 brothers Berniece Wachauf, Ralph Greve, Wilbur Greve and Rita Behr.

Norbert was 1951 graduate of Jackson Center High School.  He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict for two years.  He retired from the Carpenters Union Local #104 after over 30 years.  He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, V.F.W. Post 8445 and American Legion Post 330.  He proudly served on the V.F.W. Honor/Color Guard for over 30 years at Wapakoneta and Spencerville and he dearly loved woodworking and gardening.

Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Rev. Jedidiah Tritle officiating. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Botkins with the V.F.W. Post 8445 providing military rites.  Family and friends may call from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.
