Patricia L. "Pat" Katterhenry

Patricia L. “Pat” Katterhenry, 91, of Wapakoneta, Ohio, passed away at 9:50 p.m., Sunday, February 12, 2023 at Lima Convalescent Home.

She was born on June 13, 1931 in Greybull, WY to Arthur and Jessie Peterson who preceded her in death.  On April 3, 1955 she married Dick Katterhenry and he passed away on October 6, 1996. 

Survivors include 3 children Kip (Luba) Katterhenry of Indiana, Kelly (Tim) Altenburger, Kurt (Marcia) Katterhenry both of Wapakoneta; 6 grandchildren Joshua Altenburger, Tara (Chad) Topp, Liza (Ryan) Hensley, Stacey (Brandon) Freytag, Abra (Corey Horn) Katterhenry, Maisie (Cody) Hepler; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Jo (Bob) Keller of Lima; a sister-in-law Shirley Baughman and many nieces and nephews.

Pat was preceded in death by a son Keith Katterhenry and a brother Jack Peterson.

Pat was a 1949 graduate of Blume High School and then graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in journalism.  She was very involved with the Auglaize County Crisis Center, Wapakoneta Area Partnership and had owned and operated The Log Cabin in Wapakoneta.  She was a member of First English Lutheran Church.  Pat especially loved to write and read.   She was fascinated with her family’s genealogy and was proud to be one of first families in Auglaize County and Ohio.  She was also a member of the Society of Civil War Families of Ohio. 

Memorial services will begin at 12:00 p.m. Friday, February 17, 2023 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Steve Nelson officiating.  Family and friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu flowers memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize County Crisis Center or St. Rita’s Hospice.
