Alan and family,

I am sending my deepest condolences to you. Like so many, my life was better because I knew Elaine. I have fond memories of her participating in our church's Christmas play alongside myself and the other kids, and years later I was always welcomed home from college on a Sunday morning by her bright smile at church.

My prayers go out to you,
Carly

Message from Kathy and Dave Rentz
October 21, 2020 3:14 PM

Dear Mikesell family,
We are shocked and so saddened by the news of Elaine's passing. She called me out of the blue, only a few days ago, to wish me (Kathy) happy birthday. We had a lovely chat. We loved and admired her, and we feel that she was a special instrument of God's love and wisdom. When I (Kathy) had a terrifying case of breast cancer decades ago, I called her to seek her guidance. The readings she recommended got Kathy through the most difficult time of her life. Elaine was also a special support and friend to Dave's mom, Pauline Rentz. in her long years of widowhood. It was obvious that Elaine was treasured by Alan and her kids and grandkids, and that the feeling was mutual. She was a blessing to all who knew her. Our deepest sympathy to her family.

My most sincere sympathy to Alan and members of the family. There have been many times over the years that my life has been touched and changed by Elaine's kindness and wisdom, her compassion and her warmth. I was first inspired and instructed by her dedication to real mission work. She changed me when she helped me realize that mission can be here and now, in the community, not just in far away places. She helped me through some dark periods of grief and loss. Elaine was enthousiasm, tenderness, fun, energy and inspiration. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to know her, and to learn about living, because she lived..

Our family was so saddened to hear of Elaine's passing. My daughter Emily and I enjoyed playing alongside her in the Hallelujah Saints Band saxophone section. She was a sweet and precious lady who brought light wherever she was, and she will be sorely missed! May God bless all of her family with His comfort.

What a beautiful soul that God called home. Elaine was the minister at a dear friend's funeral and God's Spirit was so alive and moving among the attendees. It was my honor to talk with her at the cemetery and feel the warmth of her spirit. May you all know she is certainly in heaven and you will see her again when you go home.
