Richard Edward Heckman Sr.

Richard Edward Heckman Sr., 65, of Wapakoneta passed away at 1:28 p.m. Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at his residence.

He was born on October 10, 1955 in Lima, OH to James J. Sr. and Shirley I. (Hamby) Heckman who preceded him in death. 

Survivors include 3 sons Richard Edward (Gayle Harvey) Heckman Jr., Byron Lawrence Heckman, Matthew Robert (Andrea Marie) Heckman; 8 grandchildren Matthew Jay Eling, Dillion James Eling, Adam Duane Eling, Alexander True Heckman, Allissandra Sue (Mark) Chevalier, Aaliyah Hamby, Korr Sith Heckman, Dj Lynn Heckman; 4 great-grandchildren Austin Wade, Brian Allen, Echo Heart, Nichole Ann Marie Chevalier; 4 sisters Shirley (Bill) Davis, Deborah Nicke, Linda Flotte, Nancy (Jon) Roy and a brother Thomas (Melody) Heckman.

He was preceded in death by his siblings James Jr., Michael, David, Steven, Sandra Hawkins and Dorothy Duffman.

Richard was a family man and world traveler.   He also loved NASCAR and coffee.  He was always up for having fun with family and friends.  He always lived life to the fullest and wanted those around him too.  He was quick to help anyone out and had donated to a wide variety of charities over his lifetime.
