Robert Lee Flinn, 60, of Wapakoneta, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at his residence.

He is survived by a sister Ruth (Jack) Smith and brother-in-law Tim Hershberger, both of Wapakoneta OH; nieces and nephews Lisa (Doug) Gamble of St. Johns, Cinda Hershberger of Grove City, Scott (Joy) Hershberger of Bradenton FL, Amy Hershberger of Lima, Andrew (fiancé Terri Smith Razanno) Hershberger of Lakeview, Tonee (Kay) Hershberger of Wapakoneta, Joi Hershberger of Wapakoneta, Jacob Smith of Wapakoneta, Marcie Smith of Grove City; great-nieces and nephews Cody (Ariel) Mulcahy of Elida, Dyllan Gamble of Lakeview, Drysten (Alli) Gamble of Columbus, Delyane Gamble of St. Johns, Alyssa Hershberger of Bradenton FL, Owen Hershberger of Sidney, Charli; Blaire, Jaijaye Hershberger of Wapakoneta; great-great-nephews Keaton Mulcahy of Elida and Dexter Gamble of Columbus; as well as his best friends Chad and Chris Spencer of Wapakoneta, Todd and Amy Crow Wapakoneta, and Randy and Kim Keppeler of Stevensville MI.

He was preceded in death by two sisters Edie (James) Hershberger and Milly Hershberger, and a Great-Nephew Oliver Hershberger.

Rob lived his life selflessly and touched countless lives through his work as Board President of the St John's Lutheran Church and his work with the City of Lima Waste Water Department. He was a member of the Top of Ohio Umpires Association of Bellefontaine, an Assistant Coach of the New Hampshire PigDogs 1993; 1994; 1995, a Defensive Line Coach for the Anna High School Football team and, most recently, a Defensive Line Coach Wapakoneta High School Football.

All of which made him extremely proud.  Rob was happiest when surrounded by his family and friends, and proud of the players he coached. Rob always enjoyed sports.  If you needed someone to watch the OSU Buckeyes or Detroit Lions play, needed someone to attend a Reds game, or watch Little League - Rob was more than happy to oblige. Rob's genuine good nature was felt by all who were lucky enough to be in his presence. In 1982 he graduated from Wapakoneta Senior High School and went on to get his Nuclear Engineering degree from the University of Cincinnati.  He later pursued his Masters in Engineering-Industrial Management at the University of Dayton.  He will never be forgotten and is carried in the hearts of all who knew him.
