Sharon L. Koenig

Sharon L. Koenig, 78, of Wapakoneta, passed away at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center.

She was born on April 1, 1942 in Wapakoneta, OH to Edwin & Evelyn (Shiveley) Metzger who preceded her in death.  On June 27, 1964 she married Leroy Koenig and he passed away on March 23, 2001.

Survivors include 3 children Kirk Koenig of Lima, Joseph Koenig of Wapakoneta, Denice Koenig of Covington, KY; 2 granddaughters Jena and Tara Koenig; 3 sisters Sandy Metzger of South Pasadena, CA, Jill (John) Metzger of Largo, FL, Jan (Dave) Dilsaver of Jackson Center.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers Larry and Gene Metzger.

Sharon was a 1960 graduate of Wapakoneta Senior High.  She was a huge animal lover and had worked at the Auglaize County Humane Society.

Private family services will be held on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Sean Wilson officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be directed to the Auglaize County Humane Society.

The Koenig family has entrusted Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta to handle the arrangements.
