Virginia Louise Stratton

Virginia Louise "Jinny" Stratton, 72, of Lima, passed away at 4:18 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Lima Memorial Health System.  She was born on June 19, 1949 in Lima, to Harold and Wilma (Utrup) Springer who have preceded her in death.  On June 14, 1980 she married Victor L. Stratton, who passed away on April 29, 1986.

 

Survivors include her daughter, Dana & Michael (Stinchcomb) Stratton, of Lima; three grandchildren, Kylie, Cameron, and Connor; two sisters, Pat & Sam Wiford, of Wapakoneta, Linda & Bill Drawe, of Sequin, TX; an aunt, Irene Utrup, of Delphos; and close friends, Donna Davis, of Perrysburg, who was like a sister, and Gloria & Jan Wiechart, of Bluffton. 

 

She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry & Sharon Springer.

 

Jin was a 1967 graduate of Wapakoneta High School and retired in 2003 from Ford Motor Company after 32 years of service.  She enjoyed horseback riding when she was younger, but her true treasure was her family.  Jin was always close with her mom, Wilma, and worked hard to create a wonderful life for her daughter.  As much as she loved being a daughter and mother, she especially loved her grandkids.  A member of the Wapakoneta Eagles, Jinny also liked playing bingo, going to the casino and dancing.  She loved going out to eat and shopping trips.  A member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Jin was very strong in her faith. 

 

A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Sean Wilson officiating.  Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church or a charity of the donor's choice.
