Anna Irene Coil

October 24, 1928 ~ December 28, 2021 (age 93) 93 Years Old

Anna Irene Bickham Coil, 93, peacefully passed to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

She was born October 24, 1928 to the late Raymond Leroy Bickham and Senora Anna Smith Bickham. On March 21, 1964  she married John Edward Coil and he passed away on November 2, 2000.

She is survived by her sons Tim (Ruth) Coil, Denny Coil, Edward (Jodie Nicole) Coil; daughters Pam (Dave) Bullock, Beth (Renee Burwell) Coil; sister-in-law Elizabeth Bickham; grandchildren Angie Ledley, Nick (Elizabeth) Ledley, Gabe (Quincy) Coil, Amy Coil, Jamie (Troy) Wood, Luke (Judy) Coil, Mason Coil, Brody Coil, Sammi Coil, Charlotte Maxwell, Aimee (Danny) Owsley, Jamie (Joseph) Johnson, Patrick Burwell; 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren; bonus son Jeff Kantner and bonus daughter Caran Coil.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years John Edward Coil; a sister Senora Louise Brugler and a brother Vance Herbert Bickham.

Irene was a 1946 graduate of Huntsville High School and a 1948 graduate of Wittenberg University. She always said if you love what you do, you never really work a day in your life.  She worked for Meredith & Meredith Law firm for 69 years from 1948-2017 and loved every minute of it. Irene and John also owned and operated John E. Coil’s Used Cars in Wapakoneta, OH and the Welcome Inn in New Hampshire, OH. Irene has been a lifetime member of Muchinippi Church and a true disciple of God. She loves the Lord, church, her family, crossword puzzles, all God’s creatures, especially her cats and grand-dogs. She has always possessed an endless reservoir of curiosity and awe, from which she drew her inspiration for life. She will live on forever in each person she knew, because of her loving heart, beautiful smile and amazing ability to forgive.

Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at Schlosser Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Wapakoneta with Rev. Ed Shady officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Wapakoneta.  Family and friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the Muchinippi Church.
